The Quiet Movement of Discernment
Noticing is where beginning start – where they root is discernment.
Gifts of intuition and inner guidance is something we are all born with, though over time many of us have been taught to quiet or even overlook it. Slowly, and often unintentionally, we are conditioned to trust what is certain and comfortable.
When we begin to recognize that this inner guidance is still present, there is a shift within. We find ways to name and recognize our truths, opening up space for greater authenticity – not because anything has changed physically, but rather because we are listening differently.
The choices we make – big/small, conscious/habitual, spend/save – shape the experiences we have. Often, it is these experiences we rely on when making the next decision. But what happens when the path feels bumpy? When something no longer feels aligned, even if it did at another point in time? This is where discernment begins – not by fixing or forcing, but by pausing and noticing. There is a quiet (often overlooked) beauty in recognizing our misalignment, we are reminded that movement is still possible in what comes next – we are not fixed in one place.
Through reflection and letting go of our attachment to certainty and comfort, we can begin to sense what might emerge if our choices where guided by truth rather than expectation, habit, comfort, or certainty. Discernment invites us to listen inward and rarely for us to know the right answers – it’s asking to listen to what feels honest, right, steady, and real.
